365 days a year.

(7) miles south of State Road 50.
ACTIVITIES
Camping
Our campground is approximately a 1.5-mile
drive from the ranger station and is located between
beautiful Dixie Lake and Hammond Lake. It has sixty
sites all with electric and water. Fifteen of the
sites also include sewer hookups. Sites range is
size from 20’ back-ins to a 65’ pull-through.
The campground is complete with two bathhouses,
two fishing piers, one pavilion, and one dump station.
There are three camp loops total; two fifteen-site
loops and one thirty-site loop.
Boat Ramp
A public boat ramp is located on the river between
Lake Louisa and Lake Susan.
Canoeing
The park offers a canoe and kayak launch at Dixie
Lake just off of the fishing pier. Lake Louisa offers
canoe and kayak accessibility also but does not
have a designated launch area. Canoe and kayakers
would have to launch off of the Lake Louisa beach,
which is accessible via Lake Nellie Road or our
main entrance off of Hwy. 27.
Fishing
Lake Louisa State Park has fishing access at four
of our six lakes. Lake Louisa is our largest lake,
which offers fishing access off of the lake’s
shoreline. Dixie Lake is our second largest lake
and is only accessible by our main entrance off
of Hwy. 27.
The park prohibits gas-powered motorboats and boat
trailers, (hand launch only), into the lakes. Only
boats powered by trolling motors or manually powered
are allowed. Any person who wishes to use a boat
in any of the lakes must first register their boat
at the ranger station at least twenty-four hours
before the day they expect to come out.
Horse Trails
Lake Louisa State Park offers miles of trails for
equestrian users. Our horse trail parking lot is
accessible only off of the Lake Nellie Road, which
you can access by C.R. 561. TPlease be sure to have
with you proof of negative coggins for your horses.
Nature Trails
Hiking is permitted on the horse trails and an abundance
of wildlife may be seen. Birding is a favorite activity
with sightings dependent on the seasons.
Swimming
Due to the extremely low visibility levels at the
lake, swimming is not allowed at Lake Louisa at
this time.
